Gerald Klopper secures the Competitor’s Rep position.
Our competitors matter and without a healthy field of participants, it will be very difficult to reach our goals in the future. Growing anything takes effort, good communication and collaboration between all the stakeholders.
In an effort to advance better communication channels, the neccesity for a Competitors Representative was identified to ensure that competitors can make their voices heard.
The steering committee launched an anonymous voting poll this week giving Competitors the opportunity to submit the names of their chosen candidates.
With a total of 10 individuals nominated, Gerald managed to secure 42.9% of the votes on him, to represent his fellow Rallyists. Theuns Joubert and Johann Fourie each received 10.7% of the votes in equal 2nd place with George Smalberger and J.J Potgieter in joint 3rd place with 7.1% of the votes.
Gerald, an avid rally competitor in the National Championship, will be tasked with all competitors’ matters and representing them at the Steering Committee meetings. In order to grow the sport it is imperative that all spheres are represented, competitors being one of the critical factors to focus on.
