The eagerly awaited National Rally Championship’s return to the powerhouse town of Ermelo has to wait a little longer. Funding, or the lack thereof, has halted plans to host the event in March this year. With no definitive plan to scrap the event off the calendar completely, the National Rally Steering Committee made the decision to postpone the event to a later date in the year.

Being proactive, the committee has made provision for situations like this by having a “Rain Date” round on the calendar. Even though the decision to host the Ermelo event in October has not been made, the option is available once funding has been secured.

The planning by the local Cape Car & Motorcycle Club for the 2024 Cape Swartland Rally, happening on the 12th & 13th of April is well underway, and we are looking forward to our boys and girls showing their talents in the Western Cape. The NRC would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused and reiterate its commitment to ensure that an exciting 2024 Rally Championship awaits our competitors and fans this coming season.
